Book Swap and Show and Tell
Bring the books you are finished with and think other members might enjoy. Anything by Jane Austen or anything which has the flavour of Austen such as prequels, sequels, retellings in modern settings along with books about her life, family and about her times (Georgian, Regency history). “
Also if you have a favourite edition of an Austen novel, or novella, bring it along and tell us why it’s special to you. Was it your first Austen novel, a gift, do you like the illustrations or annotations? Tell us all about it. So there is no confusion, this book will NOT be part of the swap, unless you want it to be.
A donation to the tea table would be nice but not necessary.

Uniacke Estate Museum Park
Two years ago we visited the Park and had a a tour of the extensive ground. This time we will tour Richard John Uniacke’s beautiful house. Tea or a picnic will follow.

Patrick Stokes said something Sunday morning at the Montreal AGM about an upcoming event in Halifax. Do you know what he meant?

Thanks for your visit to our blog. As former Chair of the English Jane Austen Society (JAS), Patrick was thinking of having their AGM in Halifax in 2017 to celebrate Persuasion. Nothing has been finalized yet.

Do you mean the English AGM? Would we be able to attend?
Yes, it is the English AGM. I think you would have to be an international member of JAS to attend. Our JASNA regional members would be involved as a courtesy and to provide assistance.
This is grand news – as a former resident and frequent visitor to Hampshire I am a JAS-UK member as well as a JASNA member. I’ve never been able to visit Halifax (almost harder to fly to than the UK when one lives in Vancouver). This would be a must trip to make if JAS and yourselves every pull it off. Great work you are doing in Halifax, to be sure.
